Reset & Perform
Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 20 September 2026
These Terms & Conditions explain how I work with clients through Reset & Perform. Please read them before booking an Initial Consultation or therapy session.
1. About Reset & Perform
Reset & Perform is operated by:
William Franklin
Student - Solution Focused Hypnotherapist
Email: william@resetandperform.com
Telephone: +44 7960 995269
Correspondence address: 17 Belfield Road, Manchester M20 6BJ
I am currently completing professional training in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.
I work within the limits of my training, competence, professional insurance and supervision and follow the professional standards applicable to my current level of practice and membership.
2. What Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines solution-focused therapeutic conversation with hypnosis or guided trance. Sessions focus primarily on your goals, resources and the changes you would like to make rather than requiring you to analyse or relive past experiences.
A standard session is approximately 50 minutes.
The number of sessions varies between individuals. Many clients may work with me over several weeks and a typical programme may involve approximately 8-12 sessions, but this is not a requirement or a guarantee. We will review progress together regularly.
3. Your choice and consent
Taking part in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is entirely voluntary.
Before the Initial Consultation you will be asked to complete and sign a separate Client Consent Form confirming that you have received enough information to make an informed decision about participating.
You may ask questions at any stage and may withdraw your consent or end therapy at any time. Ending therapy does not affect your statutory consumer rights or any fee properly due for a session already provided or cancelled at short notice in accordance with these terms.
4. Scope of practice
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a complementary therapeutic service. It does not replace appropriate medical, psychiatric or psychological assessment or treatment.
I do not diagnose medical or mental-health conditions, prescribe medication or advise you to stop or change medication prescribed by a healthcare professional.
If I believe that your needs fall outside my competence or that another professional or service would be more appropriate, I may recommend that you contact your GP or another suitably qualified professional and may decline to begin or continue therapy.
No particular therapeutic outcome can be guaranteed. Your experience and results will depend on your individual circumstances and engagement with the process.
5. Age of clients
While I am practising as a student Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, individual therapy is available only to clients aged 18 or over.
Following completion of my professional qualification, and subject to my professional insurance and safeguarding requirements, I intend to offer therapy to clients aged 16 and 17 where appropriate.
For clients aged 16 or 17:
• explicit written agreement from a parent or legal guardian will be obtained where required by my professional, safeguarding or insurance arrangements;
• a parent or legal guardian may be required to attend the Initial Consultation;
• where appropriate, a parent or guardian may also be asked to remain available or present during therapy sessions;
• arrangements concerning parental attendance, confidentiality and communication will be agreed before therapy begins; and
• I will also seek the young person's own informed agreement to participate in therapy.
The welfare and wishes of the young person will remain central to any decision about whether therapy is appropriate.
6. Health and suitability
Please tell me about any relevant medical or mental-health diagnosis, medication, current treatment or significant change in circumstances that may affect the safety or suitability of therapy.
You do not need to provide information that is irrelevant to our work.
I reserve the right to postpone, decline or discontinue therapy where I reasonably believe that doing so is necessary for your welfare, is outside my scope of practice or is required by professional, insurance or safeguarding obligations. Wherever appropriate I will explain the reason and signpost you towards another source of support.
7. Confidentiality
What you tell me during therapy is treated as confidential.
I may discuss anonymised aspects of my work with an appropriately qualified supervisor as part of professional supervision. I will not normally disclose information that identifies you.
There are limited circumstances in which confidentiality may need to be broken, including where:
• I reasonably believe that you or another person is at serious risk of harm;
• safeguarding obligations require appropriate action;
• disclosure is required by law, court order or another lawful authority; or
• you have given me specific consent to share information.
Where it is safe and appropriate to do so, I would normally try to discuss the need for disclosure with you first.
Where the client is aged 16 or 17, the boundaries of confidentiality and what information may or may not be shared with a parent or guardian will be explained and agreed before therapy starts. Safeguarding obligations will always take priority where there is a serious risk of harm.
8. Records and data protection
I keep appropriate records of Initial Consultations, consent, relevant information and therapy progress.
Personal and health information will be handled securely and in accordance with applicable UK data-protection law and my Privacy Notice, which explains what information I collect, why I use it, how long I retain it, who it may be shared with and your data-protection rights.
Agreeing to therapy does not mean that you agree to receive marketing communications. Any marketing consent will be requested separately and may be withdrawn.
9. Research, case studies and testimonials
Your participation in therapy does not require you to take part in research, provide a case study or give a testimonial.
If I invite you to participate in research or permit information to be used for another purpose, I will explain this separately and obtain specific consent where required.
Declining or withdrawing from research will not affect your therapy.
I will not publish an identifiable testimonial, case study or other client information without appropriate permission.
10. Online sessions
For an online session you should:
• be somewhere private, safe and unlikely to be interrupted;
• use a suitable internet connection and device;
• not drive, operate machinery or undertake another activity during the session; and
• tell me where you are physically located if requested for safety purposes.
I may ask you to provide an emergency contact and to confirm your location for an online session where this is appropriate for your safety.
For clients aged 16 or 17, additional arrangements may be agreed with the parent or guardian concerning the location of the session and their availability or presence.
Online sessions are ordinarily provided to clients physically located in the UK. Sessions from another country must be agreed with me in advance and are subject to insurance, professional and local legal requirements.
Neither of us should record a therapy session without the other's prior written agreement.
11. Technology problems
If an online session cannot reasonably continue because of a technical failure on my side, I will offer to resume or reschedule the session or refund the relevant session fee where appropriate.
If the problem is on your side, we will make a reasonable attempt to reconnect. Depending upon how much of the session has taken place and the circumstances, the session may be rearranged or treated as having taken place. I will apply this reasonably rather than automatically charging for a service that could not be provided.
12. Relaxation recordings
Any relaxation or hypnosis recording supplied to you is for your own personal use.
It must not be listened to while driving, operating machinery or carrying out any activity requiring your full attention.
It must not be copied, sold, published or distributed without permission.
13. Fees and payment
Current fees are displayed on the Reset & Perform website or confirmed to you before you book.
You will always be told the cost of a session or programme before committing to it.
Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due before or at the time of the session.
There is no obligation to purchase additional sessions or a package.
14. Cancellation and rescheduling of appointments
I ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment.
Where less than 24 hours' notice is given, or an appointment is missed without notice, I reserve the right to charge the session fee because that appointment time has been reserved for you.
I recognise that genuine emergencies occur and may waive or reduce a late-cancellation charge at my discretion where it is reasonable to do so.
If I have to cancel an appointment, you may choose either a replacement appointment or a refund of any fee paid for that session.
15. Prepaid packages
You may stop therapy at any time.
If you have paid in advance for a package and decide not to continue, any refund will take account of sessions already provided and any lawful, reasonable costs already incurred.
These terms do not remove or restrict any rights you have under consumer law.
16. Online and distance bookings - your cancellation rights
Where you enter into a consumer contract with me online, by telephone or otherwise at a distance, you may have a statutory 14-day cancellation period beginning when the contract is made.
If you ask me to provide a session during that 14-day period, I will ask you to expressly request that the service begins before the cancellation period has expired.
If you subsequently exercise a statutory right to cancel after services have begun at your request, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services already provided.
Where a service has been fully performed during the cancellation period following your express request and the legally required acknowledgement, your statutory right to cancel that completed service may end.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory consumer rights.
17. Behaviour and professional boundaries
Our relationship will remain professional throughout therapy.
Sessions may be ended, and future therapy may be declined, where a client behaves in a threatening, abusive, discriminatory or otherwise seriously inappropriate way.
I will also not conduct hypnosis where a client appears significantly impaired by alcohol or non-prescribed recreational drugs.
Where therapy is discontinued by me, I will explain the reason where appropriate and, where reasonably possible, provide information about alternative sources of support.
18. Emergency and crisis support
Reset & Perform is not an emergency or crisis service.
If you or another person is in immediate danger or experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 999.
For emotional support in the UK you can also:
• call Samaritans on 116 123; or
• text SHOUT to 85258.
19. Employer-funded and corporate services
Where an employer or another organisation pays for your individual sessions, the therapeutic relationship remains between you and me.
I will not normally disclose the content of your sessions, health information or other confidential information to your employer without your specific consent, except where disclosure is required for safeguarding or another lawful reason.
An employer may receive agreed administrative information or anonymised or aggregated information where appropriate, but this will not include the confidential content of individual therapy sessions unless you have expressly agreed otherwise.
Corporate workshops, training days and other business-to-business services may also be governed by a separate written proposal or service agreement.
20. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of my service, I would like you to tell me so that I have an opportunity to address the matter.
Please contact:
William Franklin
Email: william@resetandperform.com
Telephone: +44 7960 995269
Correspondence address: 17 Belfield Road, Manchester M20 6BJ
I will aim to acknowledge a written complaint promptly and deal with it fairly and professionally.
Where applicable, I am also subject to the professional standards and complaints procedures of the professional organisations of which I am a member.
21. Consumer rights and standard of service
I will provide my services with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these terms seeks to exclude or limit any legal right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
22. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, nothing in this clause removes any mandatory consumer protection or right to bring proceedings available to you under applicable law.
Client acknowledgement
Before commencing an Initial Consultation, you will be asked separately to confirm that:
I have read and understood the Reset & Perform Terms & Conditions and Privacy Notice. I have had the opportunity to ask questions and understand that participation in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is voluntary.
